Cushings syndrome: a success story?
South Devon Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, Torquay, Devon, UK.
This presentation reviews the case of a 34-year-old woman diagnosed with Cushings syndrome.
Her symptoms had been developing over an 8 years period until she was referred to the endocrine team in 2003.
This review covers her progress from diagnosis to discharge in April of 2007 a period that includes adrenalectomy, adrenal crisis, cosmetic surgery and the process of weaning off hydrocortisone.
It is anticipated that this case will highlight some of the issues surrounding the care of patients with Cushings as well as demonstrate a successful outcome in this patients case.
