Objectives: Overt hyperthyroidism is reported to be associated with an increased mortality risk and an increased risk of cardiovascular (CV) complications such as an acute coronary syndrome requiring percutaneous coronary intervention, ischemic and non-ischemic stroke, atrial fibrillation and venous thromboembolism.
