Congenital adrenal hyperplasia (CAH) is a life-time disorder affecting 1 in 10 000–15 000 infants and in 90–95% of cases is due to a reduction in the activity of the adrenal 21-hydroxylase enzyme. Until recently it was usual to discharge teenagers with TS to primary care once final height had been attained in the paediatric setting. It is now clear that adults with TS benefit from dedicated TS clinics in order to optimise health care for this commonly neglected group.
