The role of brown and brite fat in energy balance regulation

Three major observations triggered a revitalized interest in the role of brown fat in energy balance and the metabolic benefits of this thermogenic tissue in humans. Role of brown adipose tissue activation in lipid metabolism and cardiometabolic health

Activated brown adipose tissue (BAT) combusts high amounts of intracellular lipids into heat.
