Breaking NAD+: Vitamin B3 salvage and metabolism in metabolic health

NAD+, as well as its phosphorylated form NADP+, are best known as electron carriers and co-substrates of various redox reactions essential to the cellular processes of energy metabolism and biosynthesis.
