Introduction: Glucose-induced osmotic diuresis and free water loss induced by the SGLT2 inhibitor empagliflozin effectively increase sodium levels in patients with a chronic syndrome of inappropriate antidiuresis (SIAD) where arginine vasopressin (AVP) levels are inappropriately increased in relation to osmolality.
