Background: Autoimmune polyendocrinopathy-candidiasis–ectodermal dystrophy (APECED) is a rare monogenic disorder characterized by various loss-of-function mutations in the AIRE gene. Clinical manifestations in this case included chronic mucocutaneous candidiasis, hypoparathyroidism, primary adrenal insufficiency, type 1 diabetes, and vitiligo.
