Introduction: Neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1) is an autosomal dominant condition with an incidence of 1 in 2600 to 3000 individuals. Patients with this disorder are characterized by multiple neurofibromas, caf-au-lait macules, axillary freckling, optic gliomas, iris hamartomas, and skeletal abnormalities.
