Increased calcitonin level in cases with multinodular goitre and ectopic Cushing syndrome – diagnostic challenges

Introduction: Calcitonin is produced by parafollicular C cells of the thyroid, increased values being considered the hallmark for the medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC).
