Background: 21-hydroxylase deficiency congenital adrenal hyperplasia (CAH) is characterised by cortisol deficiency, androgen excess, varying degrees of virilisation and salt-wasting. CAH management involves replacement therapy with hydrocortisone, and, often, fludrocortisone.
