Introduction: Primary aldosteronism (PA) is a form of secondary hypertension, affecting 2.4% of the hypertensive population. It is caused by autonomous overproduction of aldosterone by either a unilateral aldosterone-producing adenoma (APA) or by bilateral adrenal hyperplasia (BAH).
