Intoxication with vitamin D as the cause of severe hypercalcaemia

A 71-year-old man presented to the emergency department with dyspnoea and general weakness. He had a history of stable COPD, coronary artery disease, abdominal aneurysm surgery, and prostate cancer. One month ago, he had survived a SARS-CoV-2 infection. His somatic status was normal, blood pressure was 115/65 mmHg, heart rate was 63/min, he was afebrile 36.6 °C with the exception of SpO2 which was 83%.
