Background: Maturity-onset diabetes of the young (MODY) is a group of 13 monogenic forms of diabetes transmitted in an autosomal dominant pattern and is characterized by a primary defect in pancreatic β-cell function. The prevalence of Metabolic Associated Steatotic Liver Disease (MASLD) is approximately 55% in patients with Type 2 diabetes (T2DM). The EASL-EASD-EASO guidelines recommend screening patients with T2DM for MASLD. Fibrosis-4 Index (FIB-4) is a simple tool used to screen for MASLD in T2DM.
