Gonadotropin releasing-hormone (GnRH or LHRH) regulates the hypothalamo-pituitary-gonadal (HPG) axis in vertebrates. GnRH neurons that regulate the HPG axis derive from progenitor cells in the nasal compartment and migrate along vomeronasal fibers across the cribriform plate into the forebrain.
