Head and neck paragangliomas (HNPs) are tumors derived from the neuroectoderm. HNPs are generally hormonally silent and often asymptomatic. They can be part of the Pheochromocytoma/ Paraganglioma Syndrome, due to mutations of SDHB, SDHC and SDHD genes.
