Background: Diabetic nephropathy is leading cause of end-stage renal disease (ESRD), which requires dialysis or a transplant. Progression of diabetic nephropathy (DN) leads to development of chronic renal failure (CRF).Material and methods: Data for 124 554 DM patients who live in Moscow region (MR) is in the MR DM register for 2004.
