PCOS is a complex endocrine syndrome characterized by the combination of reproductive aberrations, namely hyperandrogenism and chronic anovulation, with metabolic defects. Polycystic ovary syndrome is a complex genetic condition, diagnosed based on oligo/anovulation, hyperandrogenemia and polycystic ovaries.
