With the rising worldwide incidence of obesity, particularly in the young, bariatric surgery offers an effective method of meaningful and sustained weight loss. So, pregnancy after bariatric surgery is now a common scenario. Most women have good pregnancy outcomes, with reduced rates of pre-eclampsia and gestational diabetes, however, rates of stillbirth and small-for-gestational-age babies are increased,In this talk some unresolved questions in the management of pregnancy after bariatric surgery as the modification of glucose homeostasis, the diagnosis of diabetes,the importance of a strict follow up during pregnancy, the assesment and correction of micronutrient and/or macronutrient deficiencies management of preexisting obesity related complications will be underlined.
