Thyroid cancer is the most common malignancy of the endocrine system. Papillary thyroid cancer is the most common thyroid malignancy worldwide and has a good prognosis. The prevalence of follicular thyroid cancer in endemic iodine deficiency regions is higher than in regions without iodine deficiency.
