Introduction: Papillary thyroid cancer (PTC) is the most common type of thyroid cancer (85%–90%). Today Fine needle aspiration biopsy (FNAB) is the diagnostic tool for the evaluation of thyroid nodules because of its accuracy and cost-effectiveness, but FNAB also has limitations, as it is quite challenging to take a biopsy from a small thyroid nodule moreover FNAB diagnosis is doubtful in up to 20% of cases.
