‘HM’ 39-year-old.

TAH & BSO 1 year ago for mennorhagia and endometriosis, at another hospital. No serious pathology.

Patient c/o hot flushes, lethargy, mood swings and low libido.

Treated by GP for frequent migraines but no visual problems.

Family h/o Cardio-Vascular disease;

Grandfather MI RIP

Father MI Alive & well

Patient is a heavy smoker 20+ c.p.d.

Seen by GP regarding hypertension, when seen in hospital B/P=150/85.

Discharged from surgery no HRT discussed, GP referred to Endocrinologist as symptomatic.

Question: what can we do in a 39-year-old, are there any alternatives? Can she take HRT?

GP assumes HRT is contraindicated due to? borderline hypertension, cardio vascular disease and/or migraines.

As she has an early or premature menopause, can we use Intrinsa to help with her loss of libido?
