An 82 year old man was admitted to hospital with lethargy, anorexia and back pain. His past medical history included chronic lymphocytic leukaemia and hypertension. Patients on long term prednisolone therapy have suppression of their hypothalamo-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis.
